DallasNews.com | News for Dallas, Texas | Local News Columnist Steve Blow

A story in the business section last Sunday reported that the advertising agency has been hired to create a whole new image for the city. The goal is to get hordes of conventioneers and tourists clamoring to visit our dear old Big D.

Well, I invited readers to provide some similarly honest slogans for our city. And it wasn't pretty.

"Dallas - A Step Back in Time." "Dallas - And What Church Do You Go To?" "Dallas - Blend In or Butt Out." "Dallas - It's All Done With Mirrors."

Some were poetic. "Dallas - World Class? My (Assume you know the rest)."

And then there was the blunt "Dallas is Callous."
